Asatru has always been a shining goal in my life. The never ending journey. Sounds like overripe tripe but it's true. I read D'Aulaires’ Norse Myths when I was in Elementary School. And I thought that this was so incredible and amazing but I figured that they must be gone now. Heh. Now they are part of my being. So much so that I've sought to give my life as their arm. Okay, Tyr's hand. Or at least a fingernail. Raven Kindred, not surprisingly, has become the main focus in furthering this goal. Community is a key element in the worship of the Gods. Without a social context it is very difficult to get out of the lonely spiritual vacuum and achieve a full meaning to the Old ways. And there really was not a self sufficient Kindred (i.e. I croak and rest knowing that Raven Kindred North will live on) up here for a long time. So, I (and of course the Old Guard) go and make one. Now, we have a living, breathing Community. The whole is so much more than the sum of it's parts. The first purpose of a group is to Inspire (hail Odin). I hope that I can continue to do this for the greater Asatru community. Current goals: Keeping up contacts with the greater Asatru community. Trying to make sure that Asatru means something as a Moral and Spiritual movement. Getting a better job.
