I was raised, and have lived in a small town in Massachusetts my entire life. This environment helped to instill within me many of the key principles of the Asatru faith, and the heathen way of thinking. Even though I was raised in a Catholic household, I never believed in its core teachings. I never understood asking for forgiveness for things I didn’t do, or how some person could make those things go away by telling him. It to me just never seemed right.

Then around 2006 I had some experiences in my life that made me do some research and Asatru found me. It filled me with a new sense of belonging and purpose. It felt like coming home after a long vacation, and I never looked back. Now I have enlisted in the Military, have lost more then 40% of my body mass, and have a strong unwavering belief that our Gods are loving caring beings that don’t wish us to beg to forgive supposed wrongs, but to live our lives well and full and want to celebrate our good deeds and victories.
